Students living away from their home miss home meal

             There are many students of Ewha who stay far away from their homes. Some students live alone near the front door or the back door of Ewha campus. Others live in the dormitory, Hanwoori Hall. I think those students will miss their home meal the most among things related to their home. For those students, I want to recommend some places that have menu similar to Korean style home meals.

Enjoy various menu by 5000won, Ummason Kalguksu

             Even though the name of the restaurant is Ummason Kalguksu, it provides various menus from Dwenjang-jjigae to Rabokki. A good thing about this restaurant is that the price of all menus is around 5000 won, which is reasonable and affordable for students. Foods are good enough for meals and their tastes are clean and plain, not greasy. I especially  recomend Biji-jjigae in this place because you can enjoy soft texture of beans. Regardless of what you order, three types of side menus will be served.

             To get to Ummason Kalguksu, go straight for about 5 minutes from the front gate of Ewha campus. When you face a restaurant called Chicky by Two, enter that alley and keep walking down that way for 2 minutes. You will see the restaurant called Taco and Rice, then enter the small alley again, and you will find Ummason Kalguksu.

Famous for delicious Bulgogi, Sura

             Sura is a well known restaurant among Ewha students. Many students go to Sura, if they want to eat Korean food. Sura is famous for delicious Bulgogi which is cooked in a ttukbaegi, an earthen pot. Because the sauce used in Sura Bulgogi is sweet, especially kids will particularly like it. If you have young brothers or sisters, get them to Sura. Besides Bulgogi, there are many kinds of Jjigae, Korean stew, such as Dwenjangjjigae, Kimchijjigae and so on. These Jjigaes are really good, too. Also, there is a special menu, named Sura table d'hôte, 수라 정식 in Korean. If you order Sura table d'hôte, you can enjoy Dwenjangjjigae and Bulgogi at the same time. Sura will provide side dish menu, as much as you want.

             To get to Sura, enter the alley of Peggy Pie, and then turn right when you can find Mr, Pizza. Then go straight, and you will find Sura.

             Eating meals is really crucial in our life. If you eat good and healthy food, your body and mood will be better. Do not eat unhealthy junk food but enjoy home meal style menus for yourself. I hope students who live far away from their families enjoy the meals from Ummason Kalguksu and Sura.
